Animal Angels is a Sanctuary for DOGS that have found themselves without a home or someone to care for them. We DO NOT have accomodations for CATS. If you have a situation that requires you to find a safe place for your cat, please contact one of the local cat rescue groups in your area. Often they can be reached by visiting your local Petsmart or Petco store & inquiring from the store personnel who does adoptions from that store.

The Sanctuary is a permanent home for many of our Angels - their home for the remainder of their natural life. Our first duty is to them. Therefore, we are no longer accepting owner surrender animals. Any further attempts to find room for "just one more" might compromise the welfare of our current residents & we won't do that. If you are no longer able to provide a home for your pet, please follow the suggestions above to find it a good new home.





Meet Godfrey

Godfrey was brought in to our vet's clinic & released to him. Upon examination it was determined that Godfrey had Heartworms. We can only surmise that his people didn't want to spend the money to have him treated or to keep him on preventative to keep him healthy.

Because his owners refused to spend a few $$$ on him monthly to prevent this deadly disease, Godfrey had to undergo a serious & potentially fatal treatment to remove these insidious worms from his heart & arteries.

Donations
are what make our work possible.

Without your generous help, we would not be able to provide food, shelter & medical care for these wonderful animals. Many of the animals in our care have or will require surgery, emergency veterinary care, special medications or diets, or some other treatment over & above the normal to save their life and / or to make them healthy & keep them that way. The wonderful doctors who dedicate so much of their time & services to help us still have to make a living and even at a reduced rate, these special services are expensive. Your donations make it possible for us to provide this extra care.

Coaster



Amanda & Elliott

Coaster is one of the 6 PO pups listed elsewhere. These pups are a mixed assortment. One looks like an ESSpaniel, another looks like a BC, etc. There is one rough coat female that is black with silver accents that just takes your breath away looking at her. All six of them are really beautiful dogs with good temperaments. They'll make great companions.

These babies have to be adopted together. They were abandoned at the Jacksboro pound. They would not survive without the other so it's all or nothing. They are older so only those who don't expect anything but a lot of love from these precious little ones need apply. Don't mistake them for sedentary though. They are active but won't run around and chew everything up. They would rather lay on either side of their person and be loved on after a quite walk.

SPECIAL NEEDS FUND
 Your help is needed & very much appreciated.

Often the animals that come to us are in need of extensive medical care beyond the normal vaccinations & spay/neuter procedures. Many have broken bones or severe internal injuries from being abused or hit by cars. Some will require expensive surgery to restore their quality of life .. and in some cases, to SAVE their life. If you would like to help with the cost of the life-saving treatments we provide for these animals, please note "Special Needs" on your donation check or in the comments section of your PayPal entry. All donations in any amount will be greatly appreciated.

Adoptions

It is the policy of ANIMAL ANGELS to spay or neuter all adopted pets and insure they receive the necessary vaccinations. To help cover this expense, a fee of $150.00 is asked for prior to adoption. While we never make money the deciding factor in any adoption, your generousity will help us provide the care our animals need in the future. To apply to adopt one of our angels, please fill out our on-line Adoption Application.

Please Note:

Animal Angels now has over 300 wonderful, very adoptable dogs in our care. If you see a special animal that you are interested in, you may email us or call the sanctuary ( 940-567-3252 ) to arrange a meeting.

Remember, many of our animals are not listed here so if you are looking for a particular personality or color or temperament, please ask ... chances are we will have just the perfect companion you are looking for. Thank You

Volunteers

As with any non-profit organization, we depend heavily on our volunteers and our fosters. We always need volunteers and welcome people who would like to come visit & help out. Without this wonderful network of dedicated people, we could not accomplish what we do. If you love animals and wish to get involved, please call or email us. There are motel accommodations in town or you can set up your travel trailer / motor home on the property. You might even discover your next "best friend" while you are here. Call or email for directions - we can talk you right in.
